A big announcement is in store for all readers and followers of The Unwelcome Opinion (each of whom I am extremely grateful)!
First, the bad news: I am officially shuttering “The Unwelcome Opinion” – my movie-review and op-ed blog of several years. However, that’s not because I’m never writing these again. Given the frequency at which I wrote these reviews (and the fact I work two jobs) it was not feasible for me to maintain multiple blogs.
But, the better news… I will continue to write movie reviews and op-ed style articles, and all my reviews, past, present, and future, will be consolidated at FrequentFires.com
Frequent Fires was a project I started about a year ago. The name is a satirical one: about the fact that I rarely have anything under control, and at any given moment something in my life is probably on fire. I am also a frequent flyer for work, and… well, if you know me, you know I can’t resist a good pun. So, here we are.
Until now, Frequent Fires’ primary focus was on fitness and mental wellness (and trying to be a more productive adult). I wrote several articles on the topic, and even had some fitness/health-related op-ed. But, much like the name of that site indicates, I am an imperfect human. And in a perfect world, I would always write about productivity, health, and wellness… and where is the fun in that?
So, I’m going to give this thing a shot. I’m going to combine my interests in cinema and social commentary with my interests in personal growth. Is it great for branding? No, probably not. But, I’m not a brand. Y’all signed up for the words of a human, and to close a fantastic movie blog that I’ve had for years with the best ending line of a movie I’ve ever heard, “Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.”
I hope to see you all over at Frequent Fires, but if I don’t, it’s been a pleasure and an honor to have you as a reader. Thank you for that honor.
